10 DOC (Washington) prisons from the official DOC (Washington) facility list, checked 2026-10-20.
WA DOC Incarcerated Search (official) (opens in new tab) Washington facility status
How to search: enter the person's legal last and first name, or their DOC (Washington) ID number if you have it. Nicknames and misspellings usually return nothing; try fewer letters or a different spelling of the name. Mail and Western Union deposits need the person's six-digit DOC number and last name exactly as DOC records it.
What the dates mean: any dates shown, such as admission, sentence or projected release dates, come from DOC (Washington)'s own records. Projected dates can change (for example with earned credits, discipline or parole decisions) and are not a guarantee. Ask DOC (Washington) or the facility before making plans around a date.
OutSooner does not store or list anyone's name, date of birth or ID number. The search runs on the official site.

Sending money
- WA DOC accepts deposits three ways: Securus Debit, Western Union (online, phone or in person; City Code WA DOC, account number is the DOC number plus last name), or a cashier's check or money order by mail.
- DOC lists Western Union fees from $5.95 (up to $30) to $9.95 ($200.01 to $5,000). DOC calls a mailed money order or cashier's check the least expensive option, but it can post more slowly.
- Deposits are subject to mandatory deductions under RCW 72.09.480 unless marked for an exempt use such as postage. You may not deposit to more than one person's account without the superintendent's approval.

Phone calls and video visits
- WA DOC contracts with Securus Technologies for phone calls. There is no application to receive calls, and you don't need the person's PIN to fund a phone account.
- Video visits are also through Securus. You must be on the approved visitor list, and visits are booked at least 24 hours ahead in 30-minute blocks. All calls and video visits are recorded.

In-person visiting
- In-person visits are first come, first served; if the room is full you may be turned away. Each prison posts its own visitor guidelines, hours and event calendar on the official page.
- Visitors 18 and older need valid current photo ID. Everyone is subject to search. Check the prison's alerts and notices before you travel, since visits can be cancelled without notice.

Becoming an approved visitor
- Every visitor, adult or minor, needs their own electronic visitor application. DOC accepts only online applications.
- Applications can take up to 45 business days. Don't submit more than one; a second application restarts the clock. You'll get an email when it's processed.

- Address mail with the person's full name, six-digit DOC number and the correct facility mailing address (listed on DOC's Contact Prisons page). The living unit is helpful but not required.
- Include a return address with your last name. Do not send cash, personal checks or stamps; that mail is rejected and returned.
