Bring earned-credit reform to Texas

Can voters put it on the ballot?

No. Changes go through the legislature. There is no statewide citizen initiative process, so changes go through the legislature.

Dear [Legislator name],

I am a constituent in [city], Texas. My family has a loved one serving a prison sentence, and I am writing to ask you to support legislation that expands earned sentence credits for people who work, complete education and treatment programs, and follow the rules.

Oklahoma, Nevada, Colorado and Virginia have recently passed earned-credit laws. Would you support or sponsor a similar bill in Texas?

Sincerely,
[Your name]
