Oklahoma: what happens next
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC) applies earned credits. Credits are tallied monthly by the facility, and a record of accumulated time is sent to DOC headquarters quarterly and provided to the inmate.
What to do
- Ask the person to request their current class level and credit record from their case manager.
- Keep copies of the Judgment and Sentence and any program certificates (they may qualify for achievement credits).
- If you believe a conviction was wrongly counted as a §138(E) offense, use the DOC grievance process or talk to an attorney.
- Sign up for Oklahoma alerts so you hear when the DOC publishes guidance.
Scam warnings
- Don't pay anyone who promises to "file" for SB 1213 credits. Credits are applied by the DOC; there is no application form for the new rate.
- Don't rely on any date from a website (including this one). Only the DOC calculates official dates.
- Don't send money to people claiming they can speed up release.
