28 ODRC prisons from the official ODRC facility list, checked 2026-10-20.
ODRC Offender Search (official) (opens in new tab) Ohio facility status
How to search: enter the person's legal last and first name, or their ODRC ID number if you have it. Nicknames and misspellings usually return nothing; try fewer letters or a different spelling of the name.
What the dates mean: any dates shown, such as admission, sentence or projected release dates, come from ODRC's own records. Projected dates can change (for example with earned credits, discipline or parole decisions) and are not a guarantee. Ask ODRC or the facility before making plans around a date.
OutSooner does not store or list anyone's name, date of birth or ID number. The search runs on the official site.

Sending money
- Only approved (or tentatively approved) visitors may send money. Funds from other sources are not accepted.
- Deposits go through the state's approved provider, which ODRC lists as ConnectNetwork (ViaPath): online or by app, by phone at 1-888-988-4768 (ODRC facility site ID 86), by money order with the provider's deposit form, or with cash at retail locations.
- Limits: up to $200 per deposit and $400 per calendar month. Your name on a money order must exactly match your name on the visitor list. Letters sent with a money order are thrown away.
- Official fees ODRC publishes (convenience fee table dated October 2012): $3.00 per kiosk deposit; card deposits by phone or web are $3.50 plus 3.5% up to $20, $4.50 plus 3.5% up to $100, and $5.50 plus 3.5% up to $200.
- Deposits can be taken to pay debts the person owes, under Ohio law (R.C. 5120.133).
Fees change. Check the official ODRC page (opens in new tab) for current fees before you pay. ODRC's fee table is dated October 2012 and may be outdated.

Phone calls and video visits
- Phone calls are paid from a PIN debit phone account. The person buys phone credit at commissary with their own account funds, and families can add money to phone accounts through the state's approved provider.
- Video visits are scheduled through the state's approved provider (ViaPath) at ohdoc.gtlvisitme.com after you are an approved visitor. Video hours are listed on each facility's ODRC page.

In-person visiting
- Schedule in-person visits through ohdoc.gtlvisitme.com after you are approved.
- Adults need ID such as a driver's license, passport or military ID.
- Bring a child's birth certificate or custody papers to every visit. If you are not the child's parent or guardian, a notarized Authorization for Minor Child Visitation form is also required; it lasts one year and must be renewed if the facility changes.
- Visiting hours differ by facility and are listed on each facility page.

Becoming an approved visitor
- Fill out the visiting application and send it by mail, fax or email to the facility where the person is held, not to ODRC's central mail processing center.
- The facility tells the incarcerated person when your application is processed, and they let you know the outcome.
- Wait for approval before you register with ViaPath; registering first may delay your ViaPath approval.
- ODRC does not publish a typical approval wait.

- Personal mail goes to ODRC's Mail Processing Center (OMPC), not the prison: the person's name and number (for example R111111 or A555555), Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Mail Processing Center (OMPC), 884 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
- Legal and business mail goes to the facility's own legal/business mail address, listed on its ODRC page.
