New Hampshire state prisons: visiting, mail, money and status

7 NHDOC prisons from the official NHDOC facility list, checked 2026-10-20.

How to search: enter the person's legal last and first name, or their NHDOC ID number if you have it. Nicknames and misspellings usually return nothing; try fewer letters or a different spelling of the name. It shows the facility and original minimum and maximum release dates. The minimum parole date is the earliest possible parole, not a promise.

What the dates mean: any dates shown, such as admission, sentence or projected release dates, come from NHDOC's own records. Projected dates can change (for example with earned credits, discipline or parole decisions) and are not a guarantee. Ask NHDOC or the facility before making plans around a date.

OutSooner does not store or list anyone's name, date of birth or ID number. The search runs on the official site.

How to get release and transfer alerts

NHDOC Victim Services Unit (official) (opens in new tab)

  • New Hampshire state prisons don't have a self-serve online alert system. Ask the NHDOC Victim Services Unit for notification.
  • On request, felony crime victims are told of transfers, reduced custody, releases, parole revocations, escape and death. Staff reach you by email, text or phone.

Victim services contact: Victim Services Unit, 1-888-646-6842 (888-NH-NOTICE) or (603) 271-7351, victim.services@doc.nh.gov

These alerts are built mainly for crime victims. OutSooner does not sign anyone up or store any names. Source: NHDOC (official) (opens in new tab) · Last checked

In-person visiting

  • People get two visits a week (one a week in Reception & Diagnostic once medically cleared). Each facility posts its schedule on NHDOC's visiting page; video visits are booked through GTL VisitMe.
  • Visitors under 18 must be with an approved adult family member or guardian. A dress code is enforced.

Becoming an approved visitor

  • The person must ask to add you to their list. Fill out the adult visitor application (Attachment 3 of the visiting rule), have it notarized, and send it to the person you want to visit, not to NHDOC.
  • Everyone gets a criminal background check. It takes about 4 weeks. Family members on the list are unlimited.
