Kansas state prisons: visiting, mail, money and status

9 Kansas DOC prisons from the official Kansas DOC facility list, checked 2026-10-20.

KDOC KASPER offender search (official) (opens in new tab) Kansas facility status

How to search: enter the person's legal last and first name, or their Kansas DOC ID number if you have it. Nicknames and misspellings usually return nothing; try fewer letters or a different spelling of the name. Use KASPER to confirm the person's KDOC number and current facility. Mail without the KDOC number isn't delivered.

What the dates mean: any dates shown, such as admission, sentence or projected release dates, come from Kansas DOC's own records. Projected dates can change (for example with earned credits, discipline or parole decisions) and are not a guarantee. Ask Kansas DOC or the facility before making plans around a date.

OutSooner does not store or list anyone's name, date of birth or ID number. The search runs on the official site.

How to get release and transfer alerts

  • Kansas VINE covers county jails. For people in KDOC custody, give your name and address to KDOC and to the District or County Attorney's Office, and update them whenever they change.
  • KDOC notifies victims of public comment sessions, parole, conditional and post-release, end of sentence, death, escape, work release, community work assignment and clemency applications.

Sending money

  • KDOC uses a single deposit service, Access Corrections: online or in its app, by phone at (866) 345-1884, or with cash at stores through cashpaytoday.com. Service fees apply.
  • Money orders can be sent without an account using Access Corrections' money order form. Every deposit must include the sender's name and return address, or it goes to the person's forced savings account.

Phone calls and video visits

  • People in KDOC can make collect or prepaid calls but can't receive calls. Your number must be verified and added to their approved call list first.
  • The phone provider is ICS Corrections (ICSolutions). Set up a prepaid account free at icsolutions.com or by calling 1-888-506-8407; calls to cell phones need a prepaid account. Calls may be recorded.
  • For a verified emergency, such as a serious illness or death, call the facility and staff will pass on the message.

In-person visiting

  • All in-person visits must be scheduled through icsolutions.com at least 72 hours before that week's visiting begins. If you can't use the scheduler, call the facility and ask for the Visitation Clerk.
  • Up to four visitors per person. Each facility offers a morning and an afternoon slot. If the scheduler shows no openings, don't travel; you won't be admitted.

  • Wait for approval before scheduling a visit.
