Tick what you plan to send and see UDC's official rules for it before it gets rejected. Pick a prison for its mailing address.
All official mail rules we have for Utah
- Since January 5, 2026, personal mail is scanned and the person receives a color copy. Send it to the facility PO box with the person's name and inmate ID number. (official source) (opens in new tab)
- No more than five pages per mailing, on one side of 8.5 x 11 paper, in a standard #10 envelope. Postcards and greeting cards are not allowed. (official source) (opens in new tab)
- Photos must be sent through Pelipost or Flikshop. Legal, government and business mail goes directly to the facility. (official source) (opens in new tab)
- The mailroom will process no more than five pages per mailing. (official source) (opens in new tab)
- Letters must be typed or handwritten on only one side of 8.5 x 11-inch paper. (official source) (opens in new tab)
- Photographs will not be previewed or retaken unless staff determine that the original photograph is unusable. (official source) (opens in new tab)
Write the person's name and ID number only on the envelope; this page never asks for them. Rules change and can differ by prison; the prison's posted rules win. Not legal advice. No sponsors or affiliate links. Last checked .
