About this facility
Oklahoma State Penitentiary (OSP) is a male maximum-security prison in McAlester. The facility has five housing units - one for death row inmates, two for medium-security inmates and two for general population. [ODOC]
Visiting
- Visiting applications go to the ODOC Visitation Unit, P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400, not to the facility or the inmate. [ODOC visitation]
- Visitors 18 and older need a background check; approval can take up to 90 days. The inmate tells you when you are approved and when visits are scheduled.
- Visitors bringing minors must bring documents showing guardianship.
