Oklahoma good time and sentence credit rules

Oklahoma earned credits under 57 O.S. §138 depend on class level: 0, 22, 33 or 44 credits a month today. From Nov 1, 2026, Classes 3 and 4 rise to 45 and 60 for people never convicted of a §138(E)-listed offense.[1]

Credit types and rates

  • Class 1: 0. Class 2: 22. Class 3: 33. Class 4: 44 credits per month. One credit equals one day.[1]
  • From Nov 1, 2026 (SB 1213), people never convicted of a §138(E) offense earn 45 (Class 3) and 60 (Class 4).[1]

Exclusions and limits

  • No earned-credit deductions for life sentences. DOC keeps a program record for the Parole Board.[1]
  • People ever convicted of a §138(E)-listed offense stay at 33 and 44.[1]
  • 85% crimes (21 O.S. §13.1) remain limited.[1]

Parole eligibility vs. discharge

  • Earned credits are deducted from the maximum term, which moves up discharge. Parole eligibility is set separately.[1]

How to find a release date

  1. Search the official ODOC Offender Lookup by name or ID number.
  2. Look for the projected release, parole eligibility, or discharge date. The DOC record already includes credits it has awarded.
  3. For questions, contact the facility records office. Only DOC can correct a date.
