About this facility

Howard McLeod Correctional Center (HMCC) is a minimum-security male prison 30 miles southeast of Atoka. Its nearly 700 inmates produce cattle, hay, pecans, and firewood for ODOC Agri-Services on the facility's 5,300 acres. [ODOC]

Visiting

• Visiting applications go to the ODOC Visitation Unit, P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400, not to the facility or the inmate. [ODOC visitation]
• Visitors 18 and older need a background check; approval can take up to 90 days. The inmate tells you when you are approved and when visits are scheduled.
• Visitors bringing minors must bring documents showing guardianship.

Mail

• Personal mail from family and friends does not go to the facility. ODOC scans it at its digital mail center: Inmate's full name + ODOC number, Securus Digital Mail Center - OK Dept of Corrections, PO Box 223566, Dallas, TX 75222-3566. [ODOC digital mail]
• Legal mail, business correspondence, and documents needing a signature go to the facility. [ODOC digital mail]

How sentence credits apply here

• Oklahoma earned credits are set by 57 O.S. §138 and depend on the person's class level, which the facility's committee assigns.
• SB 1213 takes effect November 1, 2026: people in Class 3 and 4 earn 45 and 60 credits a month if never convicted of a §138(E) offense; others stay at 33 and 44. [SB 1213] Full Oklahoma guide
• People serving life sentences receive no earned-credit deductions.
