First: this is civil detention
ICE detention is civil, not a criminal sentence. There is no sentence to serve, so there are no sentence credits (good time) and no release date to calculate. Release depends on the immigration case: a bond, an immigration judge's decision, or an ICE decision.
There is no right to a free lawyer in immigration court. The law allows a lawyer "at no expense to the Government" (8 U.S.C. 1362 (opens in new tab)). Look for free or low-cost help on the EOIR list of pro bono providers (opens in new tab) and from accredited representatives (opens in new tab).
Watch for scams: a "notario" is not a lawyer in the U.S. Don't pay anyone who promises results. How to spot a scam.

Review BOP’s visiting protocols and FCI Atlanta’s hours and information for the most up-to-date information.
Attorney Visits
Attorneys may visit on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. — 3 p.m. without advance notice, and on all other days and times by appointment to ensure that BOP staff are available to facilitate the visit. While an appointment is not required to visit on Saturdays through Tuesdays from 8 a.m. — 3 p.m., attorneys are encouraged to make appointments where possible to ensure a smoother visiting experience. Attorneys must arrive prior to 2 p.m. to be processed inside the institution. Computers are provided in the legal visitation room for reviewing of any legal materials. All information electronic files must be on disk or a thumb USB drive that is "READ ONLY". With the Warden's approval, legal visitors are allowed to bring in a laptop computer only Monday thru Fridays, to review legal discovery materials. If you anticipate bringing a laptop, please note this in the email and submit the request as far in advance as possible.
A list of pro bono (free) legal organizations will be posted in all detainee housing units and other appropriate areas. This list shall be updated quarterly. If a detainee wishes to see a representative or paralegal from that organization, it is the detainee’s responsibility to contact them for an appointment.

All incoming mail will be delivered to the detainee, and outgoing mail will be routed to the proper postal office within 24 hours of receipt by facility staff. A mail pick-up and delivery schedule is posted in all housing units.
Detainees are allowed to purchase stamps for use. Generally, there is no limit to the amount of correspondence detainees may send at their own expense.
