About this facility

In 1979, the State Legislature passed a law authorizing the establishment of a Restitution Center Program for non-violent, non-sex offender inmates who are within one year of term expiration or parole eligibility. Through this program, these inmates are given the opportunity to establish employment in the community to better prepare them for release and to address court-ordered fees, fines, and restitution obligations. How sentence credits apply here

• Nevada credits are set by state law, not by facility. Under NRS 209.4465, people earn 20 days a month for good behavior, up to 10 more for work or study, education credits, and up to 90 days a year of meritorious credit. [NRS 209.4465]
• Participation in a conservation camp, restitution center, reentry or work release program can earn up to 10 more days a month, allowing the full 30 days a month. [209.4465(4)]
